BOSTON – The sun peeks over the city’s skyline as Bostonians make their morning commute on a crisp autumn day.

Nov 14, 2018 – Many once-fearsome carved pumpkins lie rotting on doorsteps all along Bay State Road on BU’s campus, including these two outside of 214 Bay State Rd. “I’m allergic to pumpkins,” BU freshman Erin Mooneyham said, “so I’m very glad the [Halloween] season is over.”

Oct. 23, 2018 – Former Red Sox chef Juan Perez now spends much of his time painting his favorite scenes and players from outside Fenway Park. “I’m retired now, but this is my passion,” Perez said. “I’m out here. I’m doing it. I’m getting there, one step at a time, but I’m happy.”

Sept. 22, 2018 – Sheilyn Gonzalez arranges the flora of Central Square Florist in the freezer before the flower shop closes for the day. Gonzalez, a senior at the University of Massachusetts – Boston, says that she was drawn to the florist as a part-time job. “I love flowers,” Gonzalez said. “I’ve worked with them since I was 16, so I was excited that I got the opportunity to do it again. I really like the smell.”

NEW YORK – Daniel Mulawa, 19, visits Times Square for the first time. He was brought to the city as a member of Butler University’s pep band. “It’s a hell of a lot bigger than Missouri,” Mulawa said, “but I feel comfortable in the chaos.”

Sept. 11, 2018 – BU graduate Mike Tedesco (CAS’15) takes a short break from studying for the GRE to sit on his alma mater’s largest green space, the BU Beach. “It’s peaceful,” Tedesco said. “I just spent a few hours in the library, so I needed some fresh air.”
